it’s super tuesday (isn’t every day super, though, really?) and that means you are supposed to vote. with that in mind, does your vote actually get counted? it has been 8 years since the 2000 election and electing officials to office still remains broken and rigged. please watch this very homemade but accurate video showcasing how simple it is to hack and change the results of optical scan vote machines. while the video focuses on recent new hampshire primary, these same optical scan machines are used throughout the country and are becoming the preferred system in california - even though they are still hackable! related links:

in califonia, today is the last day to register to vote. so do it! register, then vote! in order to vote in the november 7th elections, first you must be registered. govote.org makes registration really really easy. their online form fills in all of your information to a printable PDF. once you print that PDF out, get it post marked by today - as today, monday, october 23rd 2007 - is the last day to register to vote in california. so print it out and add a stamp and get it postmarked today. you can then learn what to vote on via smartvoter.org. but register now!
these are the people in my neighborhood - all republicans trying to take over california! or is it ‘khelly-fohr-neeya’? didn’t you know about arnold’s promise to deliver california to the republicans? it’s called proposition 77. where instead of a voter determined process, appointed judges - not elected officials - would draw the voting district lines in the state. reminds me of a similar story from texas in 2003. that’s a no vote, by the way. so now watch this nicely done flash parody of arnold schwarzenegger’s neighborhood and see all his fwendz!!!
