i liked reading this: Around 300 women rural residents in Brazil burst into a property owned by the US company Monsanto and destroyed a plant nursery and crops containing genetically modified corn. the women were from the group via campesina and were protesting brazil allowing monsanto and bayer to move ahead with developing genetically modified crops (GMC). brazil legalized genetically modified crops in 2005. last month french officials banned one of the approved monsanto GMCs to be grown in brazil, MON810, after doubts over the GMC’s safety. go ladies! monsanto is evil.

no, that’s not the name of a fancy new wax job. i’m talking about the discovery of what is being called ‘the brazilian stonehenge.’ located on top of a hill, 127 large rocks of stone where found in the state of amapa, brazil. the stones weigh several tons each and appear to have been laid out to help pinpoint the winter solstice.
did i say satan? i meant to say Monsanto, global corporate agri-chem giant, maker of agent orange, and enemy to small local farmers around the world. well, it’s the same thing really. i saw this headline and felt very sad: Brazil legalizes genetically modified crops. ouch! also learned that Brazil is the second largest producer of soy in the world. this will effect all of the world. but if the gm-crops are used only for the production of alternative fuels then it may be okay. but again, it is monsanto.
