i don't think that the project is being controlled by the oil companies. but i am sure oil companies lobby to fight the funding and advancement of such technologies. it is a shame our country is so far behind on solar and wind power development. take for example &lt;a href="http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/12/20/MNGRAAEL4B1.DTL" title"sfgate: Germany shines a beam on the future of energy" rel="nofollow"&gt;Muhlhausen, Germany back in 2004.&lt;/a&gt;</description>
