		<description>This reminds me of something I saw on tv a decade or so ago about how adding shredded tires into asphalt allows for roads to last three to five times longer before requiring repair. 
 Aside from the savings on road repair it reduces the HUGE piles of spent tires all over America which create Mosquito populations as well as occasionally burn out of control for months. The mandating of this simple and hugely beneficial technique was undermined by lobbyists from the apparently very powerful federal road agencies which generate revenue by constantly ... you guessed it... repairing the roads.
