recycle rubber tires into sidewalks

recycled car tire rubber sidewalks very cool company that recycles car tires and turns them into highly functional & modular sidewalks. rubbersidewalks is bringing a rubber sidewalk to a city near you. the rubber sidewalk sections are modular & install much like pavers. unlike concrete sections, these sections for sidewalk area to be lifted up for tree root repair and then re-installed. so simple. and it keeps tires out of landfill.

This reminds me of something I saw on tv a decade or so ago about how adding shredded tires into asphalt allows for roads to last three to five times longer before requiring repair.
Aside from the savings on road repair it reduces the HUGE piles of spent tires all over America which create Mosquito populations as well as occasionally burn out of control for months. The mandating of this simple and hugely beneficial technique was undermined by lobbyists from the apparently very powerful federal road agencies which generate revenue by constantly … you guessed it… repairing the roads.

    we are so fucked.
