i was very excited to go and see bob odenkirk and david cross at cobb’s comedy club for this years SF Sketchfest this sunday. the show was sold out! good thing i had my ticket bought & waiting at will call. so all looked good. however, the folks at cobb’s comedy club completely oversold the venue. no joke. the security/doorman even said “i’ve never seen it this over-crowded for any sold out show.” there was no room to sit. meaning while i was there, myself and about 6 other ticket holders were turned away. cobbs did issue refunds, but that didn’t cover any service fees charged by ticketweb. personally, it was no worries for me. i ended up having a pretty random & rad day in SF. and the cobb’s folks were nice and willing to refund the ticket price. but it would have been nicer if they just sold the show to capacity in the first place. so this post goes out to all the kids eager to see other sketch comedy venues at cobbs. if you bought tickets to any shows for SF Sketchfest at cobb’s comedy club, here’s fair warning: get there no later than a half hour before the show (earlier if possible). with cobb’s overselling their seating capacity to make extra $$$$, even if you have a ticket and arrive on-time, you might not get a seat. there you go.
